Workshop On Sport for Development And Peace

The Youth Affairs Division of the Commonwealth Secretariat, London in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and the Commonwealth Youth Programme Asia Centre organized the Commonwealth Asia Regional Consultation and Capacity Building Workshop on Sport for Development & Peace (SDP).

New Delhi: The workshop organized between October 17-20 at the Connaught was attended by senior officials in-charge of youth and sports from seven Commonwealth countries of Asia namely Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, India, Maldives, Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka; senior officials from the Commonwealth Secretariat and the CYP Asia Centre; youth active in sports promotion throught NGOs; the Indian Olympic Association; Magic Bus; British Council and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).

The workshop consisted of all country presentations, presentations from British Council, CII and Magic Bus. Pratik Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, Magic Bus presented on SDP Methodologies and Approaches. This was followed by an exhaustive field visit to one of the Magic Bus’ project sites.

The delegates thoroughly enjoyed the field visit and were impressed by the Magic Bus model and approach. It was heartening to receive an overwhelming positive response from them, who had a first-time exposure to Magic Bus.

A special mention of Dhiraj and South Delhi Team would be evident as he and his team strived hard in arranging the field visit for the delegates with their perseverance and true spirit. The presentation and the field visit had such a strong impact that delegates were inquisitive to know more about Magic Bus and how it could be started in their respective countries.

Yet another feather was added on the MB cap.
Indeed Magic Bus is magical!
